What to bring to your first meeting
Print this page, fill it in at the kitchen table, and bring it along. Rough answers are fine.
Please don't write account numbers on it.
For your first meeting
- A list of your children and grandchildren, with ages
- Who you'd trust to raise minor children
- Who you'd trust with money and paperwork
- Any existing will or trust, even an old one
- Questions you want answered
What you own (rough values are fine)
- Your home: the address, and the deed if you have it
- Bank and brokerage accounts (name of bank only, no numbers)
- Retirement accounts and life insurance, with current beneficiaries
- Other real estate, a business, or a vehicle you want to pass on
Health care wishes
- Who should speak to your doctors if you can't
- Any wishes about life support, organ donation or comfort care
